Hello!
With SketchUp 2026 I can’t limit Scale Handles to XY axis anymore. They just disappear.
Problem shows up on both SketchUp for Desktop and Web.
Works OK with 3d objects but breaks for 2d ones.

I logged a bug report about this. SKOR-20946.
Thanks!
The biggest problem is fixing existing libraries. Lets hope for a bugfix, so I can spare a few hours of my time ![]()
I checked previous version and just deselecting the xyz, produces same behavior as my previous post for 2D DCs, so a bit of time in fixing your collection should not be wasted. As waiting for a bug fix may be more time than you have.
(Musing) Did the DC code change or is this a core issue? If a core issue, then does it occur with both graphic engines?
I’m seeing this issue on 2D shapes as well. I’m also running into major problems with a large DC that contains many nested components. In our setup, the subcomponents have fixed dimensions when visible, but when hidden they’re set to shrink down to 1mm × 1mm × 1mm. This behaviour has always been useful so the bounding box doesn’t go beyond the visible nested component - but I’m starting to wonder if this approach is no longer safe in SketchUp 2026 given the current scaling issues.
If this is related to the new scaling bug, a patch would be hugely appreciated. It would save hours and hours of reworking complex DCs that were previously stable.
