Bezier tools and plugins

I have tried the Fredo 6 bezier Spline and the Bezier curve plugin.

In different softwares I am used to adjust paths using the “handles” on the nodes, which is very convenient in order order to reduce the nodes and obtain smooth flowing curves - see picture.

None of the two above mentioned plugins offers this feature.
is there some other plugin that will allow me to alter nodes through handles ?
