Best Workflow to Walk Clients through a VR Design?

Hi,

My end goal is to put a VR headset on my clients and walk them through a beautiful rendering of their future property. I am a general contractor.

My ideal workflow is

  1. Manually create the structure / floor plan.
  2. Using AI to create a realistic visual from that blank slate
  3. Allowing my clients to walk through their property in a professional and pretty looking rendering.

I used Diffuser but it only overlays a static image of the property and does not enable me to walk around it in 360. I am a TOTAL noob so I’m coming here for help because my brain is overloaded with information right now as I try to incorporate this into our design team’s workflow.

The goal is to minimize manual effort. Of course the designer/architect will still need to add a human touch to the rendering and be needed to control the AI.

What software will work best to achieve my goals? Any help and advice is very much appreciated. Thank you!!

Step 2 doesn’t exist yet. You would have to build it entirely in a 3D environment and publish it. It’s a very big undertaking and it’s not automated.

Software like enscape and lumion are made for this.

So all of the other AI based software made for architectural renderings only work in a 2D way? There is no way that AI can be incorporated to assist in creating a 3D environment made for VR?

My wife is working in Sketchup to create the 3D structure and we also have Enscape. She knows more than I do but english is her second language so i am trying to research and learn to understand how I can help develop an appropriate workflow for her.

Hi @nato100 ,

This is Aris from the SketchUp team.
I really liked the way you have listed the steps you would ideally like to follow to offer your clients a walkthrough of their future property.
As @monospaced correctly pointed out SketchUp cannot offer step 2 at the moment, and indeed most generative AI applications allow you to create 2D images of a 3D model view, or at best 3D objects from text or images.
If you are only looking for 360 views only and not complete 3D walkthroughs (the difference is that 360 allows you to look around from specific vantage points) there are some AI solutions that do text-to-360 like Blockade Labs However I do not think it is possible or at least straightforward to link these 360 views to an existing floorplan.
Nonetheless, I would love to jump on a call with you to chat more. I will send you a PM.

Best,
Aris

You could always do what people usually do,which is not yet text to 3d, but still is text to architect. That’s what yields the best results!
