Bending Text onto a curved surface

Rob try following my vids and forget about using Push Pull. At no point do I use Push Pull.
Use the Scale tool to enlarge the complete text in one go so it extends through the surface in both directions.

Not yet Rob. Maybe tonight if I have the time. I haven’t forgotten.

There is no need for a video. Draping text on the warped surface is the heavy way - to put the text on the flat bottom is the easy way - to intersect is the same way: <img src=“//cdck-file-uploads-global.s3.dualstack.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/sketchup/original/3X/e/0/e02641dfee9951f98a9e2772d301ee7fc0cb01ca.jpg” width=“690” height="4

The inverse of what @miller shows above would be to project a texture.

I’m outa here…

Nice simple solution that allows you to place the text exactly where you want it to be.

Something is not working right . . will not let me push the letters into the part . . the part will grow thicker or thinner but letter stay put ! Glowtop.skp (1.5 MB)

From your cryptic description, I can’t tell exactly what you’re having problems with but I can extrude the letters into that disk shape with no problem. Maybe you could explain clearly what you’re doing and what you’re trying to accomplish.

Why did you start a new thread and add to this one on the same topic? What does your problem have to do with bending text?

Thats okay delete this one I could not find the other one right away . . you can delete this one !
I was trying to push the letters into it so that it had holes where letters were so to speak !

You mean like I show in my screen shot?

The one on the right side ? If so yes ! and centered on the 2.5 mm disk . .

Did a copy and paste of this to Libre Office to printout and use next time I am trying to push letters into a part !

watch the Box’s gif again…

notice he used a negative number, because 3d Text has glueing properties…

Mr. Miller…I got sidetracked for a few days, but the only thing holding me up is fitting text on an awning. What I did here was create a cylinder, then I hollowed it out and cut it in half. Your video tutorial goes so fast I can’t see the unglue process…Could you please extrapolate? I appreciate any help or advice you can give me.Here’s a screen shot of the mess I made.
