Is is possible to model similar to how this is done? It seems they bring in drawings, associate planes to those drawings, and the program immediately extrudes/cuts based on the drawings.
I’m not awareThe images in this example have been drawn in Solidworks, which I suspect is better suited to metal bending for manufacture anyway.
It won’t be a random selection or unstructured lines like you’d get in a PDF or SketchUp 2D output, there will be various other pieces of embedded data as part of the design.
I think in this case if you had drawn a simple metal model model from 3 views and are wanting to make a 3D version of it, then it’s a quite a simple job to do by hand in SketchUp.
What are you working with currently? You’ve asked a similar set of questions about this across several different industries, maybe if you can describe what you wan to do and for what purpose someone can suggest a way to do it in SketchUp .
I am trying to take commercial parking garage drawings, such as for hotels, and make 3d models of them. Just the structural concrete portions.
Try GPT
I took a screenshot from the video you sent me and it made a 3D model.
The model doesn’t match very well because the screenshot quality is quite poor.
Maybe if you try with a high-quality PDF document, it might generate a more accurate 3D model.
ChatGPT is okay but is not consistent.
Tried it and it said it couldn’t even make an skp file. That is the big issue with ChatGPT. It flip flops what it can do.
