tengo 5 grupos solidos limpios e inspeccionados con Solid Inspector y forman un nivel completo. Los tengo unidos en un grupo. Pero cuando lo señalo es solo un Grupo, no un gupo solido. Y cuando lo inspecciono me salen 5 instancias anidadas, como problema, y no puede solucionarlo. Que puede ser?
if you want to merge them, you need to use the solid tools.
looks like you’ve simply grouped them together.
grouping is like putting elements in a bag. it’s simpler to transport, it’s safe.
merging is like welding all the groups to each other so that they are one unique solid entity.
Muchas gracias por la respuesta. No, no quiero fusionarlos porque necesito mantenerlos separados, pero agrupados, para poder apagarlos o prenderlos cuando lo necesite. Lo que no entiendo es porque me aparecen esas 5 instancias anidadas. Y no quiero arrastraras para mas adelante y que despues me generen algun problema. Pero no se si debe ser asi o no.
that’s the way it works. like nested dolls.
you have 5 groups, A B C D E. you select them all, group them again, and now you have a massive group containing nested sub-groups.
you could explode all 5 groups inside the main big one, but it’s a massive risk (you geometry could stick, and tagging raw geometry is a bad idea).
unfortunately, the “solid” part of sketchup is very strict, and a group with nested subgroups can’t be considered as a solid. so if you need the volume of your groups, you’ll need to select them all (the entity info panel adds volumes when you select several solid groups)
