Why can't I paint some components/groups at once by just clicking on them?

On the video I need to enter in each part of the component so I can paint it all. How to paint by clicking just one time, outside de group/component?

You could do that if you first remove the material from the faces and/or internal objects. Materials on faces take priority over those applied to group/component containers. Materials on group/component containers take precedence over materials applied to nested groups/components.

This is exactly why I love Materials Tools by ThomThom. I will select the component, and ‘remove material from selection.’ Then paste the new material on the outside of the group/component. Super easy.
