I’m looking for a resource for typical architectural construction details in Sketchup file format . I do permit drawings for client’s remodeling and regularly asked for typical/standard drawings included in the drawing set. I’ve looked and haven’t seen such whether free or paid services. I have trouble believing there isn’t a quality package of standard architectural drawings out there.
What for?
Enclosures? Foundations? Windows? Doors?
All of these things need context:
Foundations and wall detailing in California due to seismic requirements would be very different from other places in the US.
Cold weather details for walls in the Northeast would be fairly different compared to desert southwest or California coastal detailing.
Providing ‘typical/standard’ details that don’t apply to the project would do your clients a disservice. The details should be tuned to the project, location, construction method, weather, engineering requirements, etc. etc.
If you are in the UK…
A google search turns up many. In another post you stated you wanted AIA approved. Thats a different story. Those will mostly be 2d Details. The Sonder set is like 500+ details. Not sure it has the blessing of the AIA. I make my own and have assembled a pretty good library over time. It doesnt take long to make a new one specific to the area I need to define and make it into a Scrapbook Item. Old school 2d details are becoming antiquated. 3d in color tells a better story but you can easily create 2d black and white details with SketchUp and Layout. Those are out the if you search the Internet but they will be generic details.
