Having taught students and teachers to use SketchUp for two decades, I am now re-writing my instruction for the web-based version. Trimble’s decision to end free desktop licenses for educators and the later ending of the state grant program will make the economic decision for schools to move to the web version inevitable. If I was still in the classroom, I’d just start teaching other modeling programs that are more supportive of education. I’ll get off my soapbox now.
I miss using my Spacemouse. Orbiting and panning are painful with a wheel mouse. My question is, does anyone know of a device that will work like a Spacemouse with the web version? I understand it is up to the mouse maker to write the software for their device, I am just hoping to find a piece of hardware that does.
