DAE uses an XML schema for for it’s data - so that may be the closest to what you are describing.
What software is requesting XML?

My interest would be taking survey and/or design from Civil 3D to SketchUp to texture and render for some visualizations, right now recreating sites by importing contours and using topo shaper to create terrains so this would hopefully eliminate that step.
