Sketchup Workshop Cannot Create New Material

How do I create a new material? In the right-side drawer under ‘Materials’, I see 3 buttons. All but the first are greyed out. I assume the second button (which looks like an ‘edit’ symbol) is what I want. Why is is greyed out?

I’m logged in, and have been around the ‘horn’ of account management/members.

You can also use the Insert command – in the File menu (folder icon) – to select a new material file and import/insert it into your SketchUp model.
