Watching the basecamp 2016 video I noted that the installed user base is approximately 35 million. Out of those 35 million I am curious how many are using SketchUp as a serious day-to-day platform for architectural design work?
Does anyone have any idea on this number, even ballpark?
I think @Caroline should pipe up on the statistics front, or maybe even @ChrisFullmer …
the only one I know for sure is 100% of v18 users are Pro or Pro Trial…
The SU user base spans so many versions I don’t believe any useful stats can be gained from the quoted 35 million…
I suspect day to day Pro usage outstrips Make 2:1 and that serious Pro would cover a much smaller SU version span…
there is a large contingency of Make v8 M2 users who can use it commercially, and they do not want to change that…
but they do expect extension developers to cater for them…
I have no idea how many Pro’s work in the ‘building’ related industries, but know it’s quite a high percentage…
