So, I’m an “experienced” architectural drafter and designer. I have roughly 30 years working with architects and engineers as “the CAD guy” using a combination of AutoCAD and SketchUp.
Now, in 2024/25, I’m seeing that to stay marketable I see many firms using Revit or Revit LT because of BIM capability. I LOVE SketchUp. It’s learning curve is relatively shallow compared to Revit (LT). I find that Revit is bloated with buttons and settings. But regardless, is there work out there for someone like me that isn’t a Revit user who isn’t an architect using SketchUp and AutoCAD?
yeah, plenty. you’re just in a revit bubble right now, most people you’ve been working with are using it. but there are plenty of other softwares users out there
you could check sloped.io - they act as intermediary between sketchup users and people who need them.
