The in app video tutorial windows keep closing when students try to retrieve a model they previously started in the tutorial. Up until today, they could open the tutorial to retrieve the video, then open their previously started models (click not to save the blank model space) and the video would stay active when the student’s model loaded and they could continue to finish the tutorial. What has changed? How can we get the in app video to stay?
Yesterday, the app icon was completely missing from the Google waffle, so this new development is suspicious. was there an update? Does the windows OS we are using matter?
Hi @barbara.gosselin, thanks for the post. I was out last week so it is possible someone pushed an update and I am not aware of it yet. I will do some checking and see if I can find any information for you. Hopefully I can find something helpful for you.
As for OS, SketchUp for Schools is completely web based, so aside from keyboard commands it should not matter what OS you are using.
HI there
Thank you for the response. I look forward to hearing back regarding what you find out.
Another issue that arose on the same day was related to saving. Last year we began experiencing an issue around stable connection to the Google drives. Students will save models to their drives, but after about an hour the software disconnects from the drive and stops auto-saving. Our work around when this happened was to have the students go to Download-SKP, upload this file to their Drives and relaunch the software to get connected again and load the downloaded file. However, last week we lost the option to download-skp when this error occurs. It also seems to be disconnecting much more quickly now (some students in as little as 7 minutes).
