How can I share my file with associate who will work on the file? How do I preserve components associated with the file, as private material, not for copying or circulation?

You could publish your model to your Trimble Connect account and then either share the link with the colleague or add them as a collaborator on the project.
You can save the components in your model to a local collection for later use but if you share the sketchUp file with others, there’s no way to prevent them from editing the components or sharing them. You can request they don’t do those things but you have to trust that they won’t.
