Segmented curves

Creating circles or radii sometimes results in a segmented curve which cannot be selected as a continuous entity or dimensioned as a unit. How and why are some circles or radii can be addressed as continuous and some not?
Thanks,
Jim B

I’ve seen that once in a great while with very small radius arcs. Not sure why it happens but when it does, I don’t waste a lot of time on it. I just select the edges and recreate the arc with Lines2Arc.

What version of SketchUp are you using? Please complete your profile. Thanks.

If you don’t care about the arc being considered an arc, you can use Weld, TIG-Weld, or Eneroth Auto-Weld.

Dave,

Thanks for your reply. WIll complete profile. Am using Sketchup make 2017. Have 3 arc options: Center and 2 points; Point to point with a bulge; and 3 points. Have tried superimposing the other options with the same segmented result. Maybe I need to enlarge the model, add the arc and shrink. Not sure about Lines2arc.

Thanks,

Jim B

Maybe you could share a SketchUp model file that shows it. I didn’t say anything about drawing the arc again. I just convert the set of exploded edges back into an arc with the extension I mentioned.

DaveR,
Thanks for the help, I’ll try the extension. I was not aware of it.
