The ERB thread.

This is a topic thread to discuss the ERB templating library
as well as the authoring and editing of “.erb” files.

I created a Notepad++ lexing definition for working with
“.erb” files based upon a black background.
Anyone interested can use it, change the colors, etc., but you will not need to enter all the keywords and delimiters, etc.

It is posted here on GitHub in the template repo for the Ruby API doc generator.

The first thing I’ve noticed about ERB is if you make the “erb” file readable with good indents, it comes out (via YARD) into very ugly HTML.

A lot of frivolous linefeeds, etc.

A Tidy or Prettify utility is sorely needed.
