RfE: drop current Parametrics (DC) and integrate a capable Solution

as e.g. the available Siemens 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager (formerly by ‘D-Cubed’).

Which would allow to get rid of development efforts to improve/maintain DC as well as to provide a more capable and further developed solution automagically… surely great for marketing a new major release too.

Disadvantage: Royalties

Could be circumvented by outsourcing extended functionality to a commercial plugin.

That’s interesting. Revit has some parametrics like this. Basically I like the current DC concept too, but I think it was released prematurely and has remained in an unfinished state-far too unstable. And it doesn’t have a SketchUp-like way to define parameters (“constraints”) geometrically.
