I’m working w/ an architecture studio and need to have them export just a layer of info from their Revit model (ceiling diffusers and lighting!) that I can import into my Sketchup Pro model and then render. Somehow this is proving to be nearly impossible. They are saying only Sketchup Studio will allow for this. Any ideas/thoughts?
getting Sketchup studio to have the Revit importer I guess ?
or export from revit to another file format.
They’re right, only sketchup studio has the Revit importer feature, I don’t know if it’s possible to get the plugin and install it in the sketchup pro version.
You need a subscription for it to function even if you did do that
Is it possible to get a subscription only for that plugin or is it necessary to get the whole studio package?
you can install it, but it won’t run. same way as installing SU pro while not having a subscription.
There are other file format, 3d dwg or IFC, maybe 3ds or collada too, depending on what you plan to do. but if you want the “direct revit import in SU” experience, Studio it is. Unless someone out there has an extension ?
edit : it’s studio or nothing. can’t subscribe only to this tool.
I would be good to be able to get this plugin without having to get the entire studio package. There are a lot of people me included that don’t need or use the other extra features included with the studio version.
@fid have you retried exporting to ifc, and use the ifc importer plugin from sketchup?
