Rename and search by both Instance name and Definition

I want what this thread is trying to achieve; BUT, I have a spreadsheet of the component names that I want to rename and the names that I want them to be renamed after, I’m a beginner at Ruby, I want to learn how to do this as I go, but for now I want a quick and easy fix for this. I know Python and am not that much of a stranger at programming. Thank you so much!

How do I select a component by both its Instance and Definition, I’m not sure how the logic runs, I have a vague idea but I don’t know how to fetch the Instance and how to ultimately answer my query.
