Great work !
Presumably this needs structual calcs before production. How do you process it beyond the skp drawing ? Interested because we make temporary aluminium structures like this, but although skp is the most life-changing software I have ever used, I am toying with Fusion360 to provisionally assess before putting in front of the structural engineers. I can’t give them eg an stl file.
Yes, I get it close, just be years of experience. Although this one is on the ‘way beyond my pay grade’ … and it was a challenge for the PE as well.
I export 3d DWG, IFC or give them my SKP model.
In cases like this I can also make a slice of the end walls and middle bent and they can run their calcs as needed.
When I used to run calcs I would setup centerlines on the timbers and use a 2d FEA software to analyze, although it’s been over 15 years since I’ve crunched numbers - usually the manufacturer does it or I work with several engineers if I am handling the production / permit drawings.
Me too. FrameMac by any chance?
Oh no, back then I was on PC because of AutoCad overlay for timber processing as well as Hundegger software for machine files. MultiFrame I think. Had a hardware dongle!
Amazing as usual BMike!
