Push/Pulling the Trudo Vertical Forest, LIVE!

This week, grab your trusty Push/Pull tool and join Aaron as he tackles the Trudo Vertical Forest in Eindhoven! Expect great modeling tips—and probably a few jokes at Aaron’s expense.

The Trudo Vertical Forest is a 19-storey, 70-meter-tall residential tower designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti and completed in 2021 as part of the Strijp-S redevelopment. It’s the world’s first vertical forest built specifically for social housing, featuring 125 affordable units—most under 50 m²—each with a balcony supporting its own tree and shrubs. In total, the tower boasts around 135 trees and 8,500 plants, creating a strikingly biodiverse facade.

Here are a few photos and details I’ve gathered from the design. If you come across anything that might help Aaron tackle this beast, feel free to drop it in the thread!

This week marks the 4th anniversary of the Trudo Tower in Eindhoven. As the builder of this unique vertical forest for social housing, we are proud to see how the project has grown and evolved over the past years; literally!

We are very pleased to see that SketchUp is dedicating a live webinar to the Trudo Tower. It is a great way to highlight the building and share its story with a wider audience.

If additional information or background material is useful for the session, we are happy to help.
