Problems with creating a shell, end up with only inside walls

Hi there.

I create 1/2 hull of a ship that I want to 3D print. Therefore I need of course a solid. My plan was to duplicate the shell, transform it into a slightly smaller version and then simply intersect it with my actual hull.

The idea kind of works, however I always end up with the blue inside walls as a result, meaning it´s not going to be a solid but open instead.

I hope that makes sense and thanks for your help! images

The last image shows the hull from the front outside of sketchup. You can see that the walls are see-through

What happens if you select the blue faces and hit Reverse Faces?

Maaan, thanks very much. I did not know about that feature. So easy, yet so far away some times. Thanks again
