So I’m running into an issue getting a .RFA file 3D drawing to open in Sketchup. Has anyone else ran into this issue and have any suggestions?

The RFA file is a Revit Family file, not a conventional 3D model file. It can only be opened in the Revit Family Editor or inserted as a component into a Revit model.
I did a quick Google search, open the file in Revit>export as DWG. Open SU> import DWG.
