Hey SketchUp Community!
We are excited to announce that the next chapter of your 3D journey is here. SketchUp Fundamentals 2: Geometry Modeling is officially live on Trimble Learns SketchUp Campus!
Course Description
This is the second of five brand-new Fundamentals courses designed for beginners. While the first course got you started, Geometry Modeling dives deep into the operations that actually shape your world.
Geometry Modeling in SketchUp focuses on operations that directly create or modify geometrical elements within SketchUp. This course provides a comprehensive progression in SketchUp modeling—from fundamental geometry creation to advanced workflows.
Create precise volumetric structures, use core extrusion and selection tools, and understand essential geometric principles. SketchUp 3D workflows are a quick, flexible way to create complex shapes by using simple operations like adding, subtracting, or finding the overlap between two objects.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of this course, learners will know how to:
-
Configure project settings
-
Construct 2D geometry
-
Apply precision
-
Use the Push/Pull to transform 2D surfaces into 3D volumes
-
Manipulate objects
-
Execute advanced transformations
-
Create arrays and use other duplication features
-
Use the Tape Measure tool to model objects precisely
-
Manage selections effectively
