This is the fourth installment in our brand-new SketchUp Fundamentals series. If you’ve ever had your geometry accidentally warp, your file size skyrocket, or your viewport lag, this is the course that fixes it.
Organization Essentials trains you to work like a pro by isolating geometry, mastering components, and leveraging tags. You’ll move beyond basic drawing and learn how to build an efficient, hierarchical model structure that makes documenting, editing, and extracting data a breeze.

In this 2-hour course, you will learn the exact workflows needed to keep your models clean and lightweight:

Groups vs. Components: Isolate geometry to prevent messy interactions, and build repeatable, data-rich components that update globally.

Component Mastery: Manage axes, insertion points, and definitions to perfectly control placement, scaling, and mirroring.

Smart Content Integration: Efficiently insert, manage, and replace objects using the Component Browser and 3D Warehouse.

Parametric Workflows: Work with Dynamic Components to adjust attributes and trigger built-in interactive behaviors.

Advanced Tag Control: Master visibility states, filter/sort tags, and use tag-based colors, linetypes, and material overrides to visualize different project phases or systems.

Clean Documentation: Add associative dimensions that automatically update with model changes, and generate structured data reports directly from your components.
