Not even Close to real!

Diffusion to me is not even close as to what I could do in Shaderlight.
I think SketchUp should buy Shaderlight and make many of us very happy.

SketchUp Diffusion is not supposed to be a replacement for a rendering application like Shaderlight. It’s not intended for the same use, either.

It’s a generative ai model, not a rendering engine. It’s only as good as the prompt it is fed.

And even then it tends to have a mind of its own. It’s just the nature of AI by its very definition.

Thanks for the post Arrowheadman. As mentioned by our other users, the purpose of Diffusion is not meant to replace a render. It is a good way to get an initial idea off the ground though. It is also good at showing us things we have not considered trying. It is just another tool in the toolbox for us to consider as we design new models for clients or for personal projects.

If you are not getting the results you are looking for with Diffusion, try using different prompts and adjusting your settings a bit. Sometimes AI can give us a starting point for what will develop into a fun new idea!
