Moving to "Off Topic" from "SketchUp"

Starting this thread here for continued discussions on the centi-thread on SketchUp. We’ve had a couple of complaints, so we’ll leave the original thread, and feel free to discuss here.

Discourse says the original thread is a 27 minute read, so enjoy.

@keithscadservices regarding https://forums.sketchup.com/t/moving-to-off-topic-sketchup-rebranding-my-fav-api-language-the-kitchen-sink-etc/311178/113:

You use it from SketchUp to work with LayOut documents. See -

Do you have any examples of using the Layout API from SketchUp?
Users were more interested in being able to create scripts in Layout.

By the way, the name you gave to the topic, at the request of two censors, makes no sense and, it seems to me, has no relation to the initial theme. You should agree with the person who started this discussion.

@Barry

I hated the original topic. I’ll shorten it.

Search the forums or LMGTFY - Layout API "Hello World"?

yes, maybe… I took it on the fly about the dilemma between rasterized drawing and vector drawing, and it seems to me that the title you censored was interesting with this idea. I realize that there is a real subject on the process of 3d software with OpenGL (or other) and the architectural needs.

I’m having trouble understanding the point. It doesn’t seem to be used much, does it? I remember when it came out, many people were hoping to do in Layout what they do in SketchUp with scripts.
