I’m buying a new Mac Mini, and have settled on the M4 with 24gb ram, 512gb ssd plus one upgrade. Which would benefit me most: 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, or M4 Max chip? I’m using Sketchup for detailed archaeological reconstructions with .skp files in the 50mb-300mb range.
I’d opt for more memory because it is the main aspect of M chips that is impossible to increase later. SketchUp will only use one core even if you have more and isn’t especially demanding of the graphics. You can add an external SSD if you need more storage.
