Hello, I’m planning to buy a MacBook Pro and I’m trying to decide between M4 Pro and M4 Max. I’m an Interior Designer and I don’t create models often, usually outsource, but I do open/review them in SketchUp. The Pro chip comes with 48 GB RAM but the Max option has 64 GB but I am not sure if I should invest in that as it’s a huge jump! Any advice would be great.

I’ve also heard that SketchUp works great with these new chips and there were some issues with the previous models.

Like all Apple Silicon, memory can’t ever be increased. But unless you intend to run memory-intensive apps at the same time as SketchUp, I think 48GB will be plenty. They both have the same core single core speed, so that aspect won’t make any difference to SU.
