How to save a sketchup file to a PDF

How to save/convert a sketchup model file to pdf file without loosing size/quality? I have several files…trying to save sketchup (2017 make downloaded) into a PDF file. I’ve used microsofts PDF option in the “printing” page…seems like size drops from 1046kb down to 200kb. I have NO experience with this and don’t know the effect to the quality. My sign guy tells me the quality is poor…He doesn’t have/use sketchup, may not really something he wants to do, so PDF is his option…any ideas??

I was going to suggest that you should be using Export, but then I realised that I don’t think 2017 Make can export .pdf.
You can check, go File/ Export/2D Graphic and see if pdf is in the drop down.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?
A PDF print is not the 3D model but an image of what is visible on your screen.
If you want your printout to be to scale, you must select one of the standard views (top, front,…) and set your camera to parallel projection. Then you can set your scale in the Print dialog.
You can also select a print quality. A normal print is a raster image. If your “sign guy” is happier with vector lines, you can select the “Use high-accuracy HLR” print option. This produces a crisp vector print but leaves away textures, shadows and other raster effects.
There are better PDF printer alternatives than the Microsoft one, many of them free.
