Are you actually asking how to create a pattern? If so, you could use an extension like Unwrap and Flatten from the Extension Warehouse.

You can use the volume you modeled to create the inner surfaces of the die. This is similar but for sand casting with patterns and the core shown.

You can make a solid block group as the die and a copy of your object as a pattern. Then use Subtract from the Solid Tools to subtract the pattern from the die.
