This is the Residential house I made in Revit
Another significant item for your consideration: It is not very likely that you would be hired to perform design tasks as an initial foray into the job market. Most likely, if you are hired by an architectural firm, you will find your first experience requires you to develop construction documentation consisting of assembling site plans, building plans, elevations, building sections, wall sections and other construction details, and cover sheets with schedules, technical notes, general notes, legends, material symbols, etc.
Most new drafters are rarely taught how to assemble a viable set of working drawings while in school, even though this is largely the kind of effort required by most employers. For this reason, I strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with the process and methodology involved in preparing a set of drawings from which a building permit will be issued and which will result in an edifice being developed (This presumes that you have yet to be exposed to preparing working drawings.) If you have already developed construction detailing skills, you are head and shoulders above the overwhelming majority of intern applicants who will be competing for similar positions.
Again, I wish you the very best in your job search.
jvl.
First congrats on getting your diploma(it will help you latter)
But first off i must say i dont know of anyone who is SketchUp Drafter. i would argue this position does not exist in any company. SketchUp is more a design tool for Architects starting a project, witch the final product being made in Autocad Or Revit. SketchUp is not really setup to do full contract drawing ( yes i realize it is possible but in my mind not realistic)
Also and i dont mean to sound mean, being able to draw a 3d model of house or even knowing CAD does not mean much, my first boss told me any bozo can draw shapes in the computer but if you cant clearly lay them out on paper then your not gonna make it. too many students come to our company claiming to be software gurus that cant do anything past drawing the model on the screen and poor ones at that and they all want to be designers just like you lol (again not trying to be an ass). your goona have to work your way up to a designer with a few years experience of making CDâs to the company standard and with your degree you might and i stress might become a designer out of an office only one or two people are designers they are not going to give that job to a newcomer . If this is really your dream then you should continue school for your BA in architecture. Tech schools are very misleading they teach you a few tricks and take your money but get you nowhere near ready to work at an office.
When i interview some one i ask about,
line weights, xrefs, view ports and text scales if they cant answer any of these then i donât even consider them, too many school teach kids cool tricks with software and not teach being a drafter. also this is just me but if you cant draw a house in 2d by hand or with Autocad then you have no business using Revit as automation is making architects idiots when they cant answer questions about there own drawings and saying revit did it for me is not the right answer

try âUpworkâ it may not be ideal but might get you some experience and will allow you to be at home.
My skill in Google SketchUp architecture, 8 year experience
It hasnât been Google SketchUp in nearly 7 years. You should catch up and get current with it. And if you are looking for paid work youâll need to buy a license for SketchUp Pro. Your profile indicates you are using SketchUp Make which disqualifies you from charging for your work.
Thanks
