How to copy model to another file on sketchup pro 2023.1?
Copy and paste between open files is broken in 2023.1 for Windows, it is a bug. There is a temporary solution which will restore the capability for that session which is to copy anything in the second instance. The directions are in this post.
Can you fix it in next version？It is urgent ！！！
I’m sure it will be fixed as soon as possible but if it’s urgent, follow Colin’s advice in the post above yours. That works.
Thanks for this tip. I have been struggling with this all morning. I have version 23.1.329. Maybe the latest update will fix this.
It was fixed already, you should be able to copy and paste from one file into another without any other work around. By the way, your profile says that you are using sketchup 2021, you should update it cause it could be confusing in case you request help, some solutions could be different depending on the version you’re using actually.
copy something inside of your current drawing first and then paste it in that current drawing.
and then you are good to copy from another drawing file and paste it into your current drawing file.
here is worked. hope you are okay with this solution.
There’s no need to do that, the latest update fixed this bug, now you can copy and paste from one file into another without doing anything beforehand.
Maybe in stead of copy&paste a model from one file to another, you could also save the seperated model first, and insert it as a component in each file you want to use it.
Big pro of using components/saved files as a compontent, you only need to edit the original once so you can reload your changes in the files you imported it.
