Um, Jeff, I was talking about the user’s home folder, not the Library folder…so far as I know they have never hidden the home folder!

hard to tell if the whole thing was hidden or innovatit was just talking about the library.
i think if i updated osx and the entire user library was hidden, i’d go ahead and do a clean reinstall of the os. 
Yes, the User folder was there, but the library folder is hidden as default, so that folks don’t put stuff there.
To find it: you click on the desktop, click Go in the Finder header, and then hit the option button, and then Library pops up in the drop down menu. Had to ask my IT support this.
There is also a checkbox to unhide your user Library folder in View->Show View Options when your home folder is selected in Finder.
