It worked!
The resolution is:
Never ever put special characters (like / symbols) in your a folder name on a mac, otherwise it will sever the path that LO expects to follow.

Thanks for your help Dave. We got there in the end.
If the problem reappears I’ll let you know, but it seems like that taking that slash out fixed everything.
