Yes, you can do that. Click and drag the flip plane and move the mouse to an endpoint on the geometry. You can also use the origin or an edge or a guideline or a guidepoint as the mirroring location.

That’s in the old version of SketchUp for Web. Your profile shows you are using SketchUp Pro so the UI is different. Actually the SketchUp for Web UI isn’t like that anymore either.
I can’t find the “flip along” tool or option in Sketchup Web any more. I understand from this thread that it was moved from the right-click menu to the tools, but now it appears to be gone completely … ?
