I picked a style that I like for my building elevations in Sketchup. I have the scene in Layout and it appears the same. But when I export the Layout file to PDF I suddenly see all these extra little lines. How can I get rid of them?
Which extra lines? The extensions along the bottom?
Can you share the LO file?
Are you still using SketchUp/LayOut 2020? What graphics card?
Yes, the second image-- with all the little lines on the bottom, and at the corners of the building. We’re using Sketchup/LayOut 2023. I don’t know what graphics card-- this is the same computer we’ve used previously with the 2020 and 2022 versions, and never had this problem before.
Looks like extension lines from the style and probably internal vertical wall lines but that’s just a guess from the screenshot. That’s why I asked to see the LayOut file.

Those are likely the extension lines from things inside the building - walls, etc. - also the building corners will show this as well - it’s built into the style you chose.
You can:
Put interior elements on Tags and control visibility in the scene.
In SketchUp make a large mass below your building that blocks these lines.
Easier though to use LayOut to draw a white rectangle where the ground plane is to hide these lines.
And for that particular style you should make sure you are rendering in raster - otherwise the line weights and sketchiness will not show up in Hybrid or Vector.
Thanks for the help! I ended up using a slightly different style and that mostly worked. It was already set to Raster mode. It’s still strange and frustrating that the appearance in Sketchup/Layout is so different from the appearance when exported to PDF. I don’t recall this being an issue with the 2020 and 2022 versions.
