Extensions Installation

@tonychilver, your profile indicates you are using the free web version of SketchUp. If this is correct, there’s currently no implementation for extensions.

If, on the other hand, you are using SketchUp 2019 Pro (the desktop version), extensions are not opened in SketchUp. Instead they must be installed. If you’ve downloaded them to your computer, go to Window>Extension Manager and click on Install Extension. Then navigate to where you saved the extension, select it, and click Open.

thanks for the quick reply. so does this mean i need to pay to use sketchup pro?

If you need to use extensions you’ll need a desktop client version. That would mean either SketchUp 2019 Pro (for which you’d need to purchase a license) or you could use SketchUp 2017 Make which is still available. Note that the free versions are not licensed for any sort of commercial use. But you can use it for your hobby modeling.

What kind of extensions are you wanting to use?
