I assume my new extension can work with older versions of Sketchup but unfortunately some users complain it doesn’t work with SU 2018 and SU 2019. Does Sketchup Team test it with older version or not? I test my extension with SU2020 and SU Make 2017 and no problem.
No they don’t do free testing for you. This is your responsibility.
OK. I know now. I should test all SU older versions by myself and they only test it in SU2020. I think it is good for other developers to know it.
My extension works in SU2018 in my computer!!! Why users complain about it?
It seems problem is not SU version. Problem happen when system unit is Meter. I guess I solved problem and new version is in queue.
For the record if anyone stumbles on this thread, we review primarily for things risking breaking other extensions, e.g. modifying shared classes or not wrapping code properly. We also do some very basic checks on the usability, like not breaking the undo stack or communicating a licensing error. Sometimes we also comment on UX aspects and give other tips that are not necessarily requirements but good to know about. We don’t do full quality assurance on the extensions and we don’t test in older versions.
