Extend the length of Component but keep the same dimensions

Hi

I’m looking to expand or reduce the length of a component but for it to duplicate the internal items.

e.g. A staircase balustrades has top and bottom rails with spindles spaces every 100 mm, I can expand the length of the top and bottom rails using the push and pull but cannot increase the number of spindles with the original gap between them without copying and pasting them.

That’s a job for Dynamic Components. You could make one that does exactly what you want. There’s a fence component in the components included with SketchUp that does what you describe. You can use it as a starting point to create your stair rail.
