I would like to eliminate some faces in sketchup for Ipad, but when I select the face I want to eliminate and use the erase tool with the apple pencil, nothing happens. Is there a way to do this, and is there also a way to restore an erased face? Thanks

Context-click a face or edge and select Erase from the context menu. https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup/erasing-and-undoing
Not Erase tool.
Draw a line over existing one.
