EDGE entity info's "Cast Shadow" check meaning

What is the meaning of EDGE’s “Cast Shadow” check box?
I can’t cast only EDGE’s shwdow.

If that box is ticked AND From Edges in the Shadows window is ticked. Those edges will cast shadows. By working that tick boxes you can control which edges will cast shadows and which won’t when From Edges is turned on.
