BTW everyone, (sorry to the OP for the OT post) Sketchup has nothing to do with my job, I manage a warehouse and drive a delivery truck. I just have make installed on my work PC for fun, not commercial use.
By the way, welcome to the forum. Many years ago, I lived in Kraainem for three years. Never got fluent in Flemish, though.
For people beside Flemish it seems to be problem cause it is not the easyest laguage to learn.
In English:
Alee, a real Vlaming on the forum here, welcome @Denis1957
I am not Flemish myself but Dutch. Brabant, just across the borderâŠ
If you have questions that you would prefer to ask or answer in Dutch, no problem!
I can be found here on the forum almost every evening. And you can also send me a private message, if you click on my avatar (the T in the green circle) you will see a blue button with âmessageâ on it at the top right of the window.
Edit: As a new member here on the forum, you may have to wait a while before you can send private messages. This is to prevent Spambots and lasts for a few days or a certain number of posts for new members. Until then, you can simply ask your questions here. If you want to send a message to someone you can use the @ sign followed by âtwonulsevenâ as I did at the beginning of this post with your forum name, the other person will then receive a message.
Indeed A real Flemish guy, but allready having a good time for four years in the south of Portugal.
Neither have I.
Yet a true Dutchman who can answer your questions. Start simple and build up your skills slowly. SketchUp is not difficult but offers unprecedented possibilities.
2 more questions, How do I change the angle of the field?
And how to make more tools are at the side of the screen?
Maybe I give up to fast.
Do you mean the field of view? If so, z on the keyboard then type the desired FOV. I usually keep mine at 60, default is 35.
Right click the empty space where the tools go, then find the box next to large tool set, tick that box and they will pop up.
Yes, It makes like the square looks better as a square.
Next time you start a new model, do not navigate around at all, but set your FOV, then Go to File>Save as template
and check the box next to Make default template
, then you wonât have to set the FOV every time you start a new model anymore.
Thank you.
Following step by step, I have another result. First my square ( start ) goes white. But I go on and do ( as far as I see it ) the same as what you do. And it goes wrong.Any way, anyhow. Thank you for what you did.
Select the face of the square, click the follow me tool, then click the face of the funnel shape.
By the way, triple clicking an edge of a face will select all connected geometry.
Here, I make the funnel hollow.
Can you post a screenshot of how it went wrong?
It took me a week to figure out how to make a sphere, so believe me when I say Iâve had efforts to mirror what I see in tutorials go sideways.
I think of giving up. It is nothing for me and I have to face it.
Sorry, no offend to all friendly people who try to help.
But as I do every step as told in the video made bij a guy who even spend working time on me and it is no working, the problem is me. Probebly not the program.
Maybe I should buy a round funnel and shape it myself using a heatgun. LOL.

Were you planning on having this funnel 3D printed?
Yes, for filling out small jars with soil.
Do you want to draw it yourself persĂ©? Otherwise I could draw it for youâŠ
