A lot of components in the component dialog box show the missing icon (3 cubes and a ? mark). I don’t know why some components show thumbnails and some don’t.
ETA 4/12/26: I’m now seeing that when I add new scenes, those scenes are also deficient a thumbnail, instead showing a folder with a question mark on it.
I figured out the scene thumbnails. Right-click on the thumbnail to make sure “Use Scene Thumbnail” is checked (don’t know why it wasn’t when I’ve never knowingly unchecked it before, but I guess I must have). And then use “Update Scene Thumbnail” if that’s not greyed out.
It appears Component thumbnails eventually do generate. I have the components window open for a while, and when scrolling through the lot, I few thumbnails just spontaneously started to appear. Maybe this is a RAM issue? I’ve got 32GB RAM on an M1 Max MacBook Pro and quit Firefox which I normally have open on another screen.
