I decided on an Andrew Wyeth instead.
That’s even better. Grant Wood’s painting is a bit too strict for the scene, even though I like it for its combination of gentle irony and great respect for its subjects. American history and art are things I ought to know more of.
Andrew Wyeth first brings to mind an old Peanuts cartoon - Snoopy’s “bigger from the inside” doghouse has a painting by him.
