Can't change font dimension in "font panel" (SU 26 Mac OS 26)

Updating to Mac OS 26, I find some bugs: one of them is that I can no more set the height of the font in “dimension tool”. The box for setting seems disappeard.

Awaiting for reply

hi. yes, apple does that sometimes.

no immediate solution, you can rollback to sonoma, or use layout for your dimensions.

This is the same answer I had from Italian forum. The problem using dimensions with layout are about precisions, direction of the line and text, so I think it doesn’t work properly for my needs.

Wish for a solution in a sooner update.

… uh ? you know that in layout you can / should change the degree of precision, direction of the line and text…

I’m not saying you should use the default dimensions. I’m saying you should make your own.

can you show what your dimensions should look like ? symbol, font, precision…

Well, this is what I usually need to do; using the dimension tool in SU I can arrange the text in order to fit the space between start and finish of the dimension anposition the text where I prefere.

The problem now is that with small space for the text now I can’t rearrange the height of the font so it’s impossible to manage the position of the dimension the correct way.

Using the dimension tool in layout I found very difficult and often immpossible to manage the dimension in non ortogonal situations and position text in small spaces.

Maybe it’s beacause of too many options or different way the tool works, but I think it works better in SU. Unfortunately this new bug with the font is really upsetting.

I think it’s a learning opportunity. You could manage the dimensions in LayOut than in SketchUp. You sound set on your process though.

To keep moving forward then, roll back the OS as @ateliernab indicated until SketchUp is updated to deal with what Mac OS 26 broke.

Please also update your forum profile. It shows you are using SketchUp 2024. And please include the graphics card. 128gb doesn’t identify the graphics card.

My setting on process though is because of years of experience nad now changing is a matter of productivity.

If there’s no way to have a the problem fixed quickly, I surely consider to use layout for dimension, but you surely understand that’s not so good.

Roll back to previous OS isn’t a so good option too :man_shrugging: , don’t you agree?

Cheers

No. I don’t agree. Not if you must have the ability to change font size in SketchUp.

well, going back to sonoma means you’ll be free of liquid glass, and that itself is a major win :innocent:
