The title is pretty much my question, new to Sketchup here, got the free Web version, and i was trying to see if i could get an X-axis grid layout, but that requires a plugin, which im just now learning there is a version that you can install, which i cant seem to find. Can plugins be used for the free web version?
No. Currently there is no provision for extensions or plugins in the web version.
You can make a grid if you feel the need for one by making an array of guides or lines with Move/Copy.

SketchUp Free is the web based version. You can get SketchUp 2017 Make at Download All | SketchUp
Keep in mind that both SketchUp Free and SketchUp Make are for hobby, non-commercial use only.
