Octane render will be free in a few months. Until then I’ll have to agree with Cycles and Blender is your best bet for cheap / free / easy to use and understand.
We used to use Visualizer until we updated to SketchUp 2018.
We are now using Twilight Render which is a lot more powerful and has an easy learning curve. It’s also pretty cheap for what you get. https://www.twilightrender.com
I just checked the Octane Render website, and as of November 12, it’s still about $400 for a licence.
@junglistjed may I ask what kind of renderings do you want to make? Interiors? Exteriors? Product design? You could also add UnrealEngine to the list. There is a learning curve but real-time gfx / VR will steadily grow in demand so why not invest your time & effort in learning those?
Hi. I have been using Ariel Vision for about 4 years. It will set you back $250 if you want to buy a license after the free trial. The results are brilliant. It is a plug in that runs directly in SU.
