I don’t know, as I never used it myself. It was some company I was just visiting.
I do remember that the Ts were offset, so if the offset were adjustable, perhaps that changed the vanishing point? The arcs were fixed and routed out of the Formica as a recessed kidney shape.
I saw this like 40 years ago for only a few minutes. There might have been more than one of these arced kidney shaped hollows for the T-squares. I do remember it was light brown or wood-grained surface and had black silkscreened text instructions all over it’s margins.
ADD: I have found this which is similar in purpose and may still be available, but it is much simpler and smaller:
Very clever. More than 60 years ago, I was doing this using a ruler and the 3 vanishing points drawn on the sheet of paper. This trick seems faster. But, now, we have SU to help us draw a 3D object.
Sad that the current generation don’t even understand what you are talking about, and yet they can delve into politics without any understanding of the subject.
yes and no, if you need a clean perspective made with a ruler, then like you say, mark the 3 (or 2, or even 1) point. and use a ruler.
if you want to do a “freehand” sketch, the thread works fine.
